Abstract: 

Over the last several years, integration of multiple media sources into a single information system has been rapidly developing. With the recent introduction of many high level authoring, animation, modeling, and rendering programs for personal computers, significant multimedia courseware programs can now be developed by professors and students. Even with these new tools, a considerable amount of time is required to produce an interactive multimedia program for engineering education. This paper examines various multimedia development tools and how they can be used for education courseware. It discusses the development of a multimedia training material for mechanical robotic manipulators. The instructional material is developed to assist trainees in acquiring skills needed for mechanical manipulator. Finally, actuators of an industrial robot are modeled by pneumatic systems and then programmed and controlled by programmable logic controllers (PLC). Software for simulating and controlling a 3 DOF robot was designed by PLC to give a better understanding of the power of PLC in robot control and programming.

Abstract: 

Nowadays almost all schools fail to develop a process in line with supporting the professional development of teachers. Professional learning communities intend to formulate a framework and process for teachers’ continuous learning and professional development. The present research aims to investigate the impact of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) on the teachers’ self-efficacy. This research is considered to be practical in terms of objective and descriptive study (correlation) in terms of the method used for data collection. The statistical population of this research contains all the high-school teachers (Boys Only) in Saveh County in 2014-15. Using Cluster Random Sampling, 140 persons from 7 high schools were selected based on Morgan Sampling Table. Questionnaire with fifty two questions, Professional Learning Communities Assessment-Revised (Olivier et. al. 2009), and Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale with twelve questions (Tschannen-Moran and Woolfolk, 2001) were utilized for collecting data. Using Cronbach’ s alpha, the questionnaires’ indexes of reliability were 0/93 and 0/89 respectively. Furthermore, its validity was authenticated by experts. In addition, Spearman Correlation Coefficient and Structured Equation Modeling (SEM) were applied for analyzing the data. To do so, the following softwares, i. e. SPSS and AMOS were made use of. The results of this research indicate that Professional Learning Communities based on teachers’ self-efficacy are influential in all categories. Moreover, Supportive Conditions-Relationships and Supportive Conditions-Structures are the most influential components in the Professional Learning Communities.

Abstract: 

Background and Objectives: Broadband power line communications (PLC) is a promising candidate for implementing access network of different telecommunication Technologies. Planning process of the PLC access network is subdivided into two main optimization problems of the generalized base station placement and PLC channel allocation. Methods: This paper studies the latter one for an actual PLC network by taking both in-line and in-space neighboring schemes into account for the first time and modeling the PLC channel allocation according to them. In this regards, different aspects of this problem are first introduced in details and then our suggested models for them are presented and numerically evaluated. Results: Specifically, for each pair of the broadband-PLC cells, in-line neighboring is modeled either by one or zero indicating the cells are neighbor or not; in-space neighboring is suggested to be a number from the interval [0 1] according to physical vicinity of cell’ s wirings; and consequently aggregate neighboring intensity will be a number from [0 2]. Subsequently, the network interference is defined as a function of neighboring intensity and assigned frequency sets to the neighbor cells; so that the more neighboring intensity is increased and the more distance between the sets is decreased, the more interference is imposed on the PLC network. Eventually, the meta-heuristic methods of Genetic and shuffled frog-leaping algorithms are exploited to solve resulting PLC channel allocation problem via minimizing the interference. Conclusion: In general, the results confirmed the success of the suggested method in modeling PLC channel allocation problem in actual scenarios, tracking the network interference in these situations, providing an optimal solution for them, and including all previous research as a comprehensive method.

Abstract: 

Diesel engines are used in sensitive military and industrial applications as stationary power sources. In order to stabilize voltage and frequency of connected generator, diesel engine RPM would be controlled accurately. In most cases mechanical methods are used to fix the engine RPM but this method is not very accurate. In this paper a new electronic governor has been designed and constructed with programmable logic controllers (PLC). The designed controller is cheaper, more flexible and more accurate than mechanical governor. It has initially been simulated in MATLAB Simulink which showed adequate results. It was then constructed and installed on a 350 KW diesel generator in which 3. 2% improvement over conventional methods was observed.

Abstract: 

The process of major repairs and manufacturing in diesel engine repairing and remanufacturing factories is very important. Reducing the cost of repairing and the time of the processes is depended on the amount of capacity and work speed. One of the equipment that increases the capacity and speed of work is a device called a heavy equipment rotary table. In this article, research and investigation for the construction of a heavy equipment rotary table is targeted. The importance and application of items that should be considered for the design of this product have been collected. The designing of this device has been done in CATIA and Abaqus software. The loading capacity of the device was 15 tons and the torque capacity was 15000 N.m. The influential and critical components of the device were simulated using Abacus finite element software, and the geometric dimensions of each component were precisely determined. St37 carbon steel sheets were used to make the body of the machine. The standard components and parts of the device were also selected according to the mechanical and functional characteristics of the device. Finally, the rotary table device was built according to the extracted functional models and its function was evaluated successfully.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: Combined anterolateral and posterolateral rotary instability are treated by correcting knee alignment, Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction and repair or reconstruction of the Posterolateral Complex (PLC). Because of technical difficulties encountered in these operations and the need for more than tow stages, and considering the controversy among the importance of Posterolateral Complex (PLC) in valgue knee, this study was performed to treat this instability by ACL reconstruction alone, after correction of varus, without reconstruction of the posterolateral complex and further extra-articular manipulation. Methods: This clinical trial was performed on 29 patients (29 knees) with combined anterolateral and posterolateral rotary instability. Subjective and objective instability signs were recorded. Arthroscopy was then performed. To correct alignment, a valgus osteotomy was done and then an ACL reconstruction carried out. Results after a mean of 23 months follow-up, were compared to the ones of before surgery. Fisher Exact test, 2 and Wilcoxon tests were used to analyze data. Results: Pain was relieved in more than half and locking disappeared in all of the patients. giving way diminished from 79.3% to 6.9%. Special instability tests showed a significant improvement after surgery (P<0.001). Most of the patients returned to the preinjury level of work or sports. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, after correcting varus, ACL-reconstruction alone, without further invasive procedures on extra-articular structures and posterolateral complex, is sufficient to cure this instability, avoiding unneeded complications and longer rehabilitation.

Abstract: 

Objective: Globozoospermia is a rare type of teratozoospermia with incidence of 0.1% among infertile individuals. Phospholipase C zeta (PLCζ) and postacrosomal sheath WW domain binding protein (PAWP) are the main candidates in sperm taking responsibility for oocyte activation during fertilization. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the expression of these two genes at RNA and protein levels in globozoospermic individuals and compare the results with fertile individuals.Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, semen samples of 21 infertile men with globozoospermia and 25 fertile men were collected. Expression of PLCζ and PAWP at RNA and protein levels were assessed and compared between two groups by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and Western blot, respectively.Results: Expression of both PLCζ and PAWP were significantly reduced at RNA and protein levels in infertile men with globozoospermia compared to fertile men.Conclusion: This is the first study that simultaneously assessing the respective factors in a large population of globozoospermia, suggested that intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) along with artificial oocyte activation may rescue failed fertilization in routine ICSI.

Abstract: 

مشکل بزرگی که در طراحی سلفها و ترانسهای فرکانس بالا وجود دارد، تاثیرات جریانهای گردابی است. استفاده از سیمهای Litz باعث مهار کردن جریانهای گردابی در سیم پیچ می شود. استفاده از سیم های Litz گرچه تلفات ac را به میزان قابل توجهی کاهش می دهد، ولی به خاطر افزایش فضای عایق بندی در سطح مقطع سیم، مقاومتdc سیم افزایش می یابد. انتخاب سیمهای Litz باید به گونه ای صورت پذیرد که کمترین تلفات ایجاد گردد. در عین حال با توجه به قیمت نسبتا زیاد این محصول، انتخاب آن باید بصورتی انجام گیرد که از نظر قیمت نیز بهینه باشد. در این مقاله ضمن بررسی فاکتورهای مهم در سیمهای Litz، روش انتخاب بهینه آن شرح داده می شود. همچنین باتوجه به کاربرد آن در تجهیزات مخابراتی صنعت برق، بایک مثال در فیلتر خط (Power Line Carrier) PLC دیجیتال، نحوه انتخاب سیم نشان داده می شود.

THIS WORK CONSISTS OF TWO SECTION OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE. IN THE SOFTWARE SECTION, TO CONTROL OF TEST STATION SYSTEM WAS PERFORMED USING SIMATIC SOFTWARE OF SIEMENS PLC PROGRAMMING. ALSO, HMI PROGRAMMING USING PM-DESIGNER SOFTWARE WERE DONE TO COMMUNICATE OPERATOR AND PLC IN ORDER TO READING THE ELEMENTS FROM PLC OR ENTERING THE VALUES TO PLC. HARDWARE SECTION, INCLUDES, CPU, ANALOGUE INPUT CARDS, ANALOGUE OUTPUT CARDS, DIGITAL INPUT CARDS, AND DIGITAL OUTPUT CARDS. THE ANALOGUE INPUTS, WERE USED FOR READING THE ELEMENTS SUCH AS OUTPUT TEMPERATURES OF HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN HUMIDIFIER, VALUES OF HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN MOISTURE, FLOW OF HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN, VOLTAGE OF CELL, TEMPERATURE OF CELL, PRESSURE OF HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN OUTPUTS. ALSO, ANALOGUE OUTPUTS, USED FOR SENDING COMMANDS OF THE GRADUAL CLOSING OR OPENING TO HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN SOLENOID VALVES.
